Full-Time Outpatient Psychiatrist

Community Research Foundation, San Diego

One full time psychiatrists needed for an outpatient position with Traditions Behavioral Health in a San Diego outpatient programs working with seriously and persistently mentally ill consumers as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Salary $241,000 per annum plus up to $10,000 in bonuses and a benefit package valued at over $70,000. You could elect to take 50 hours per week with a salary of $301,000 per annum plus up to $10,000 in bonuses and a benefit package valued at $90,000 for a full time position during daytime hours. The CRF Short Term Acute Residential Treatment (START) programs are evidence-based crisis residential programs recognized by the SAMHSA National Registry of Evidence-Based Practices (START NREPP Link).  For over 35 years, START programs offer a residential alternative to voluntary psychiatric hospitalization for adults who are experiencing a severe mental health crisis, which may also include substance use, which cannot be managed on an outpatient basis. The pleasant homelike environment is safe, warm and supportive, providing just the right amount of structure for recovery. The programs are staffed 24 hours a day by mental health professionals. Program staff collaborate with clients to develop a treatment plan and assist clients to find resources in the community.  The average length of stay is less than ten days, so residents’ discharge plans begin at admission.  Please click on the START Program Fact Sheet for more information.  The START Psychiatrist role involves:


·       On-site Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays for psychiatric assessment of new admissions
·       Available via phone Mondays-Fridays for medication orders and medical consultation
·       Documentation of assessment, clinical interventions and medical orders
·       Prescribe psychotropic medications as indicated
·       Consultation with nursing staff carrying out medical orders
·       Consultation with multidisciplinary clinical team as needed
·       Discharge medication orders
·       Consultation with continuing care and referring MD’s as needed
